CREATIVE STATEMENT
I am a freelance illustrator based in Canada who specialize in children's book illustration. I am perpetually inspired by the whimsy of childhood, my creative work is a blend of love for children’s themes, textured illustrations and patterns drawn from the world around me. What I love most about creating stories and illustrating them is how they can make you learn and travel without leaving your comfy couch. I love historical picture books, heartfelt stories and I think dinosaurs are awesome. To create a successful illustration, I believe it's important to have a collaborative approach with my clients. I strive to make my art inclusive and relatable with a fun twist!

Q&A
What was your favorite storybook as a child?
I was an avid reader of La Courte Échelle books, from suspense to polar, I read them all! I also was (and still am) very into graphic novels and comic books, my favorite as a child was Garfield.
Which authors do you admire most?
My favorite authors are Élise Gravel and Isabelle Arsenault. I also really enjoy Geneviève Godbout's work.
What characteristic really brings a children’s book to life?
Color and texture are important aspects for me and also, perhaps weirdly, I ask myself if I would love to live in that story!
