CREATIVE STATEMENT
I love the fact that landscapes are the backdrop for absolutely anything to happen. There’s so much scope to be playful, tiny details add to a much bigger narrative. I strive to make bold, vibrant illustrations that convey a sense of advanture. I work digitally, collaging flat colour next to hand-made textures. I thank the happy accidents of print. I just don’t think you can create that sense of freedom with Photoshop, yet!

What is your favorite sound from nature?
Crickets —my little boy and I have spent ages looking for them in the long grass in the summer.
Which do you prefer: fields or forests?
Easy-peasy—forests. Trees are amazing, both to draw and also as a natural phenomenon.
What is your favorite season?
Spring because it’s the furthest point away from dark winter nights - it feels like there’s so much fun ahead of you at that time of year.
