CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in landscapes began during my career in conservation communication learning alongside ecologists about habitats under threat and what makes them special. My expertise in landscapes has developed due to my love of exploring the outdoors, by walking and kayaking. What I love most about landscape illustration is its ability to transport a viewer to another place. To create an immersive and evocative landscape illustration I believe it’s important to capture the spirit of a place using a distinctive visual language. To maintain my skillset I’ve recently completed a Masters in Illustration with full distinctions from Falmouth University in the UK, renowned for its illustration programme.

Q&A
What is your favorite sound from nature?
The bubbling call of the curlew along the coast, especially in the wilderness of the Hebrides in Scotland.
Which do you prefer: fields or forests?
Too tough a call! I love the intimacy and intricacies of a woodland and the contrasting expanse of a meadow with its resident wildlife.
What is your favorite season?
I try to enjoy each of the seasons where I live, but spring is my favourite, from the pungent scent of wild garlic to the soundtrack of the skylark.
