CREATIVE STATEMENT

As an artist, I see the world differently. What I love most about surface pattern design is the ability to take any object and build a colorful world around it. In college, I majored in interior design. There, I developed an eye for color and an acute understanding of both how home decor and textiles are utilized to create your environment and people’s desire for fun, whimsical patterns. My work invokes a sense of wonder, excitement, and it fills a need in the industry for spooky, kooky, and colorful designs.

Q&A

What industry do you most enjoy creating patterns for?
Without a doubt, the answer is home decor. From bedding, to dishware and even puzzles, I feel like it blends my two professional worlds together and allows for the most creativity.

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in antique shops, Halloween themed children’s books from the late 90s, and every bouquet of flowers I see.

What would be your dream pattern job?
I would simply keel over at the opportunity to work on mystical, witchy or Halloween-centered home decor collection with brands like Anthropologie or Target. (I keep a floral patterned jack-o-lantern up in my house all year long!)
