CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in drawing has been a part of me ever since I could remember. I have a strong passion for creating cute and beautiful work especially for children. My work is whimsical with a soft, sophisticated touch, drawing inspiration from nature, history and things that are a bit quirky like my own kids. When I’m not drawing, you can find me drinking coffee while spending time with my husband, two kids and six pets—that’s right, six—as well as getting my hands dirty in the clay studio.

Q&A
What was your favorite storybook as a child?
One of my favorite books as a child was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Not only could I relate to the love of all the foods as a child but I adored the bright colors and textures of Eric Carle's work.
Which authors do you admire most?
Authors I really admire are Sophie Blackall, Hayley Barrett and Sue Fliess.
What characteristic really brings a children’s book to life?
Color plays a huge role in my work so to me books that have strong color stories really bring the story to life.
