CREATIVE STATEMENT
Nestled on a Virginia hillside with a stunning view of the Blue Ridge mountains, I find inspiration for my illustration work from changing seasons, sunsets, gardens, and local farm markets. Food and drinks offer a visually appealing and emotionally evocative subject matter that allows me unlimited creative expression. Food and drinks often have rich stories behind them—from cultural significance to personal memories (capturing a “moment in time”—the nostalgia of shared meals with family and friends, baking holiday treats with a parent or grandparent or showcasing meaningful keepsake items). I enjoy playing with composition, arrangement, and presentation, bringing my own artistic flair to the table. What brings me the utmost joy in my artistic endeavors is the ability to infuse a whimsical realism into my illustrations.

I love illustrating strawberries and carrots due to their distinct personalities. Strawberries captivate me with their vibrant colors and luscious appearance, while carrots, with their gnarly and festive nature, offer a unique and delightful artistic challenge.
What is your comfort food?
My comfort food would be anything sweet. Fortunately, the illustrated sweets I create are low calorie and guilt-free!
What is your favorite beverage?
My favorite beverage is water. When feeling celebratory, champagne is at the top of the list. Cheers to staying hydrated and enjoying celebratory moments!
