CREATIVE STATEMENT
I'm interested in depicting sophisticated moments which a kick of whimsy. In my work I often draw upon my own experiences that I haven't seen depicted, or that I want to put my own personal spin on. I grew up in three continents before the age of ten and have never put down roots. This adventurous lifestyle informs my work. Because I am semi-nomadic, I have found working digitally, in vector illustration, to be great for working on-site anywhere in the world.

Q&A
Do you draw from a model or your imagination?
Both. I usually start with a gestural sketch and look for references to draw from or create the reference myself. The model I finally draw from is a collage that often changes as I get into the image.
What is your favorite activity to illustrate?
Athletics are always fun to draw, but I really like quiet activities as well. I've noticed I often draw people reading and interacting with animals which reflects how I like to relax.
Where do you find inspiration for new people and poses?
Where don't I find it? I walk out my door and there everyone is! Or, I stay home and there's all sorts of domestic activities to be inspired by. Then there are all the things I dream about doing. It's endless.
