There’s something about winter scenery that just hits different for me. I love mixing cool, icy tones with warm, cozy ones. We don’t really get snow in Mexico City, so I bring those snowy moments to life through my illustrations instead.

What is your favorite holiday dish?
I’ve gotta go with romeritos; it’s such a classic mole dish. And unlike most people, I actually love a good slice of fruitcake.
Which film do you recommend for holiday viewing?
I love watching Rise of the Guardians! It’s got everything — a beautiful story, an awesome message, amazing characters, stunning colors, and incredible animation. Honestly, I love everything about it.
What is your go-to gift for the host of a holiday party?
A piñata!
