CREATIVE STATEMENT
As an illustrator who specializes in botanical inspired surface design, I nurture this focus by growing many varieties of cut flowers from seed in my home garden, often using them as inspiration for my floral patterns. My process includes loosely painting different botanical elements and then digitally layering and composing them to create a floral shape. I enjoy the process of allowing the piece to evolve through clipping, collaging, and overlapping and observing the unexpected moments that appear. Pattern design captivates me because of its versatility—it can be applied in many different scenarios such as wallpaper, fabric, fashion, home décor or stationery, bringing art into the everyday in thoughtful, personal ways.

Q&A
What industry do you most enjoy creating patterns for?
I most enjoy creating patterns for wallpaper, stationery, gift wrap, home decor and childrens apparel.
Where do you find inspiration?
My biggest source of inspiration is my garden and the nature that surrounds it.
What would be your dream pattern job?
My dream pattern job would be to create pattern collections for interior designers that specialize in furnishing eclectic, natural and garden inspired spaces whether that be retail, residential or corporate. I think it would be amazing to have one of my botanical patterns as wallpaper on a feature wall in a trendy garden gift shop or farm to table restaurant.
