CREATIVE STATEMENT
My watercolor paintings celebrate the natural world, inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Hiking among moss-covered trees and sailing across sparkling blue seas have shaped my creative journey. The forests are alive with flora and fauna, foxes, birds, and so much more, providing endless inspiration for my work. I honed my artistic voice at Seattle’s School of Visual Concepts and earned a certificate in Art for the Children’s Market from the University of Washington. Drawing from nature’s beauty, I nurture my creativity by spending as much time as possible in the woods and on the water. One of the proudest moments of my career was winning a 2023 Louie Award for my greeting card Sleepytime, which captures a tender moment between a mama fox and her baby under a starry summer sky.

Q&A
What animal do you most relate to?
I most relate to the owls in the trees outside my house. They sit calmly calling out to the one they love enjoying the night air, trees, and stars. I adore their sweet, enchanting hoots and their patience for enjoying the moment.
What animal is the most fun to draw?
I love to draw foxes. Their pointy ears, fluffy tails and gorgeous colors are so fun to capture in watercolor. They have such humorous and endearing expressions.
Which do you prefer: cats or dogs?
Oh, I definitely prefer dogs. Don’t tell my cat! We have a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and he is the most incredible dog I’ve ever met. I love and adore him and am constantly fluffing and snuggling his furry furry face!
