CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in editorial illustration began years ago while working in New York retouching photos for magazines and I was surrounded by amazing illustrations. Over the years, my expertise in illustration has developed due to my style, which is inspired by art deco and bright, bold shapes and colors. What I love about editorial illustration is telling a story—whether I use humor or am able to depict a serious topic and bring insight and meaning to it. To create successful illustrations I believe it's important to be in tune with current news and events, pop culture and what's going on in the world. The strength of my work is doing research about the topic I'm illustrating and also working efficiently. To maintain my skillset I draw a lot, sketch out ideas, and brainstorm because I love what I do!
