CREATIVE STATEMENT
I'm an illustrator and surface pattern designer. After a long career in marketing, the birth of my son propelled me to take the leap into my true passion, illustration. I began my career with a deep dive into portrait illustration, soon garnering jobs from The Globe & Mail, The Washington Post, Forbes and other well-known publications. What I enjoy most about specializing in portrait illustration is highlighting people of colour, minorities, the under-represented, and especially overcomers of adversity.

Which of your portraits is a personal favorite?
A personal favourite of mine is my portrait of Pico Iyer for The Globe & Mail.
What is the most important feature to capture?
It is extremely important to me to capture the true likeness of the subject and it usually begins with their eyes.
What would your dream project be?
My dream project would be to illustrate the cover of some of the most well-known magazines in the world such as TIME, or The New Yorker.
