CREATIVE STATEMENT
I specialize in pattern design driven by color and usually involving flowers, often only flowers. I begin each pattern by building a color palette with interesting contrast. I’m inspired by old-world folk art and by the maximalist surface decoration of past eras, particularly Renaissance Italy, and the later 70s. I currently create my my work digitally, but keep a paper and ink sketchbook to remind myself to work with mistakes and not get to comfortable with undo features.
