CREATIVE STATEMENT
My love of pets and pet portraiture began as a child and has developed over the years. As an illustrator who specializes in watercolor, I nurture this focus on animals by offering custom pet portraits—all creatures are welcome! What I love most about painting pets with watercolor is creating a lasting memory for the pet owners, a beloved piece of art to be treasured for years to come. To create a successful watercolor illustration I believe it's important to focus on the details and to render each hair, feather, whisker, or scale lovingly. For me, a successful pet portrait includes sharply focused eyes and perfect color matching—two of my greatest strengths! To maintain my skillset, I am constantly painting and exploring new subject and animals.

What is your most memorable commission?
My most memorable commission was a ketubah (Jewish wedding document) featuring animals from the Northern California coast.
Which do you prefer: dogs or cats?
I prefer dogs but mainly because I'm allergic to cats! But in my next lifetime, I'd like to come back as a pampered house cat.
Which is your favorite breed?
My favorite breed of dogs is dachshunds because of their short little legs and sassy personalities.
