CREATIVE STATEMENT
My passion for branding has grown throughout my design career since 2010 (I’m usually reading a book on the topic). From an illustrator’s perspective, I love how brand illustration can bring a brand to life. There are so many opportunities for visual storytelling, from retail merchandise to headquarters murals, that allow you to inspire, educate, entertain, and surprise people both inside and outside the brand.

Q&A
What is your favorite logo?
I’d have to say the Nike Swoosh, as unoriginal as that may be (because I live in Oregon where it was founded). Honestly, I appreciate their dedication to implementing it consistently for so long that it can now be stylized, flipped, cropped, and/or distorted, and still be recognizable.
Which brand do you most admire for its use of illustration?
I really enjoy the apparel lines coming out of RSVLTS. They not only license the funnest brands, but also hire amazing illustrators and designers to create the patterns and artwork.
What packaging would be your dream job?
I’d love to work on a limited-edition packaging project where we can incorporate the product or brand's story through the artwork. We could use fun printing techniques (UV printing, metallic or holographic foil, etc.) to really elevate the experience. The package would be more than a container; it would be a piece of art the consumer wants to keep and share the experience with others.
