CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in editorial illustration began when Steven Heller, who was the Senior Art Director at The New York Times Book Review, commissioned me to do my first illustration assignment. Fortunately he was known for giving young artists their break in the publishing industry. From there I began to do illustrations for The New York Times Travel and Op-Ed sections. What I love most about editorial illustration is the delightful way it can convey ideas and emotions visually, to enhance the client’s brief. The quick turnaround time is also a welcome challenge!
