CREATIVE STATEMENT
As an illustrator who specializes in surface pattern design, I love to create very full repeats. I find designing and developing pattern which has a flow and a rhythm to it very satisfying. The aspect I love most about pattern design is that it is almost like creating a piece of music—balancing the size, colour and distance of elements; ensuring none are too 'loud' on the page, and that they all work harmoniously together.

What industry do you most enjoy creating patterns for?
Fabric and wallpaper.
Where do you find inspiration?
In terms of designers, I love William Morris. As a lot of my work explores themes of wildlife and plants, I also like to get out in nature to find inspiration.
What would be your dream pattern job?
I'd love to work with a maximalist interiors company, like House of Hackney.
