CREATIVE STATEMENT
Inspiring children to explore has always been important to me. A large part of that comes from the escapism of a good book—characters and stories that broaden young minds and encourage adventures and questions. I have a particular love of non-fiction, and enjoy being involved in children learning about unusual places and fascinating animals that they've never heard of before; to replace fear of the unknown with a sense of discovery. In parallel to that, I find such peace in the act of creating those worlds through art. My ultimate goal as a children's book illustrator is to spark curiosity and wonder; to help children see magic in the ordinary and to nurture an open mind and kindness towards the natural world.

Q&A
What was your favorite storybook as a child?
Any Roald Dahl book... I loved The Giraffe, The Pelly and Me, but the book I remember most from my childhood is The Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark. Not technically a storybook, but I also owned a big book of illustrated poetry for kids, and loved Benjamin Zephaniah's Talking Turkeys! I believe that poem had a huge impact on my life.
Which authors do you admire most?
I admire the playfulness and creativity of Roald Dahl's writing.
What characteristic really brings a children’s book to life?
I love children's books with very full, detailed and colourful illustration—where you spot more things in the scene the more you look!
