CREATIVE STATEMENT
I grew up with parents who own food businesses, which has given me a deep connection to food and a strong respect for craftsmanship—both of which influence my art and work as a baker. I'm usually drawn to watercolors to capture the dreamlike beauty of everyday life, embracing the medium’s soft, fluid quality. My focus is on how food brings people together. Whether sharing a meal, celebrating, or simply enjoying a moment, food creates connections, honors cultures, and builds lasting memories. Through my art, I invite viewers to pause, reflect, and appreciate these shared experiences.
Q&A
What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
I love drawing sugar snap peas. They have such a vibrant green color and their shape and little peas inside make them irresistibly cute.
What is your comfort food?
Stews are my comfort food. I love the deep, hearty flavors and warmth they bring. Some of my favorites are tonjiru, doenjang jjigae, and beef bourguignon.
What is your favorite beverage?
One of my favorite beverage is a cappuccino. I love the balance of rich espresso, creamy foam, and a cozy, comforting feel with every sip.
