CREATIVE STATEMENT
Coming from a family of greengrocers dating back 100 years, my first job was working in a fruit and veg shop. I came across varieties of produce that I’d never heard of and was inspired, so at University I transferred that interest in to my drawing. There’s countless opportunities with food to explore colour, shape and texture, whether it be to represent culture, connect with people, evoke memories or simply bring a bit of colour to someone’s home. It’s a constant source of inspiration, from browsing cook books, to colourful cocktails, and finding vintage packaging. I work predominately digitally to create vibrant illustrations full of colour and use handmade textures to bring my work to life.

Q&A
What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustration?
How can I choose? Lemons and strawberries are always fun to draw but I love illustration anything with a fun shape or texture with lots of colour!
What’s your comfort food?
It’s got to be a roast dinner with all the trimmings, with my Gran’s apple crumble for dessert!
What’s your favourite beverage?
A fruity cocktail! Though you can’t beat a nice cuppa tea!
