CREATIVE STATEMENT
Illustrating landscapes developed out of my interest in people's sense of place. I love the connections we have to landscapes, townscapes and seascapes. It is fascinating to watch an audience’s reaction to a painted landscape and the way that they look for a personal connection with their own experience. I like my landscape illustrations to be textural and layered in a way that evokes depth and age. When someone looks at one of my landscapes I would like them to feel that they can almost smell the air and feel the breeze in their hair, I think a good landscape illustration should give you a multilayered feel for a place.
