CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in illustrating florals began when I first started painting as a young girl. I would press flowers from the garden and pick floral specimens to illustrate. I had a small pocket guide to wildflowers in middle school and I would choose flowers to paint from there. I went on to study Textile Design where, of course, floral illustration was a core area to build skills in. Whilst I illustrate all sorts of different subject matter, florals are what comes most naturally, painting florals is like breathing fresh air for me, a peaceful, meditative experience that has a never-ending source of varied inspiration and possibilities for outcomes.
