CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in pet portrait illustration began as a creative escape during the burnout of an intense MBA program and quickly turned into an obsession with capturing the personalities people love most about their pets. Over the years, my expertise has developed through creating bold, expressive digital portraits focused on storytelling, emotion, and playful detail. As an illustrator, I’m constantly inspired by my own two dogs and the deep connection people have with their animals. I believe the best pet portraits feel both artistic and personal. For me, the two most important qualities of a successful portrait are personality and emotional connection.

Q&A
What is your most memorable commission?
One of my most memorable commissions was creating a portrait for someone who described their dog as their “soul dog.” Being trusted to capture such an important relationship is incredibly meaningful to me, and moments like that remind me why I love creating pet portraits so much.
Which do you prefer: dogs or cats?
I’ll always have a soft spot for dogs because of the bond I have with my own pups, Murphy and Teddy, but I honestly love illustrating any pet that has a big personality and a special story behind them.
Which is your favorite breed?
It’s impossible for me to choose just one favorite breed because every dog has such unique expressions and personality traits. I’m especially drawn to breeds with expressive faces and sweet, lovable energy that really shine through in portraits.
