CREATIVE STATEMENT

My interest in drawing animals and wildlife began with a childhood fascination with hedgehogs. I found them so cute and irresistible that I’ve been creating art of them for decades. What I love most about animal illustrations is their ability to convey wholesome cuteness and whimsical storytelling. To create successful creature illustrations, I believe it’s important to embrace mischievousness and experiment with various techniques.

Q&A

What animal do you most relate to?
Hedgehog. They’re shy and take awhile to warm up to you, but once they get confident they have big personalities.

What animal is the most fun to draw?
Hedgehogs or other small animals such as guinea pigs and hamsters. Capybaras are also fun.

Which do you prefer: Cats or Dogs?
Dogs. I love cats too, but dogs have so many different shapes spanning from many different breeds.
