What was your favorite storybook as a child?
The Velveteen Rabbit—I still love the messaging to accept things as they are and find contentment.
Which authors do you admire most?
Like most kids, growing up I loved Dr. Seuss. His work made me feel okay with being weird. I think any book that teaches young readers to embrace their individuality is a great asset to society.
What characteristic really brings a children’s book to life?
Vibrant illustrations that complement the narrative in a not-so-ordinary and unexpected way, along with relatable characters, and a compelling storyline that resonates with the audience.
