CREATIVE STATEMENT
I'm an illustrator and designer born, raised, and made in New York. I create designs from hand-painted watercolor illustrations into graphic motifs, patterns, and product concepts. My decades-long career in graphic design and love for watercolor painting refined my style. Inspired by my Cuban and Puerto Rican heritage and travels to Mediterranean coasts much of my work has soft textures with bold compositions. I'm forever a student of design and always down a curiosity rabbit hole — testing new materials, tinkering with a DIY project, growing something fresh in the garden — with a sketchbook in hand.
Q&A
What industry do you most enjoy creating patterns for?
I love to create artwork for Home Decor, Stationery and Gift markets.
Where do you find inspiration?
My creative sparks are influenced by a love for florals mixed with graphic appeal. I'm always inspired by vintage fabrics, antique home decor, Cuban and Spanish tile, and mid-century graphic design.
What would be your dream pattern job?
Patterns, motifs, and product design for a home decor collection. I would love to incorporate a mix of materials and textures: ceramics, wood, wovens, etc.
