CREATIVE STATEMENT

My interest in vegan food illustration began with a desire to document everyday meals in a way that felt personal, ethical, and quietly nostalgic. Over the years, my expertise in vegan food art has developed due to a background in cinema. I compose each plant-based vignette like a paused frame or a forgotten lunch memory, drawing inspiration from corner shops, vintage lunches, and working-class meals. To create successful vegan food illustrations, I believe it’s important to style everything with clean lines, retro props, and a quiet resistance to excess. For me, clarity and storytelling are key.

Q&A

What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
I love drawing pickles—their strange shapes, glass jars lined up like a pantry afterthought, always a little offbeat. They always feel a little out of place, which suits me just fine.

What is your comfort food?
Borscht with a lot of dill. Earthy, sour, and straightforward—comfort food that doesn't try too hard and always does the job.

What is your favorite beverage?
Orangina! It’s slightly fizzy, a bit pulpy, and unapologetically Frenchie. And it tastes like childhood.
