CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in fantasy began when I was still very small. I grew up reading Moomin and the Hobbit, as well as competing with my father over whose gollum parody is better. Over the years I have developed my illustration and narrative skills, paying more attention to the details and well as to the wider context of fantasy. What I love the most about fantasy is how it is able to let us escape reality while keeping us grounded at the same time. As fictional as the heroes and the foes are, we can still empathise with them and draw the parallel with our own lifes. Nowadays I draw a lot of inspiration from the vast universe of tabletop games, especially Dungeons and Dragons. It is my dream to create the visuals for a special Magic the Gathering card deck, or get lost illustrating ancient toms that belonged to a long gone mad wizard for D&D Beyond. At the moment I am working on the Book of Goblin, heavily inspired by medieval illuminated manuscripts. I will never grow tired of searching for magic and the ways to bring it to our world.
