CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in illustration began when, as a potter, I really got into drawing on my pots. Over the years, my interest in decorating my ceramic pieces bloomed into drawing on other surfaces and in other media. As an illustrator who specializes in food and drink, I nurture this focus by regularly trying new foods. (My latest favorite is West African cuisine.) What I love most about food and drink illustration is its immediate ability to make me–and the viewer–hungry! To create a successful illustration, I believe it's important to add a dash of the unexpected. To maintain my food and drink illustration skill set, I draw–and eat–a lot!
