CREATIVE STATEMENT
Over the years, my expertise in drawing sci-fi and fantasy works has developed due to my appreciation for the symbolic, psychological and social qualities of myth and folklore. To maintain my skillset, I sketch often and with friends. During my time sketching, I challenge myself with small exercises such as combining creatures and building forms from abstract shapes. To create successful fantastical illustrations, I believe it is important to look around us, as well as to the past, for inspiration. For instance, I love walking during snowstorms to witness the alien qualities of a quiet, barren landscape, warped by snowfall.

What super power would you wish for?
Telekinesis. With a bit of technical know-how, I would be able to finish so many house projects.
What is your favorite show or film?
The Shining (1980), Coraline (2009) and Matilda (1996) all have special places in my heart.
Which do you prefer: outer space, deep sea or fantasy lands?
Fantasy lands hands down. While the other two might be nice to look at, they would be dreadfully cold.
