CREATIVE STATEMENT
I have always been drawn to painting florals and nature. I began my career in textile design, designing floral patterns. A natural progression for me was painting still life florals and landscapes, incorporating the paintings and drawings into the area of illustration. I truly enjoyed illustrating an award-winning children’s non-fiction book, “Wake, Sleepy One,” about the California poppy. I challenge myself by using different media, including pastels, watercolors, Procreate, digital collage, and gouache. My integration of different media into my art gives my paintings a unique style which I continue to develop.
