CREATIVE STATEMENT
I believe food and creative expression are two of the most powerful forces we have to shape our world, so it’s no wonder why I have always gravitated towards food as a subject! In my 20+ years of watercolor and drawing experience, depicting food equates drawing life. The color, the texture, and how we experience food is such a universal but unique experience to us all. When illustrating food and beverages, a successful illustration makes the food dance across the page and teaches you something about the culture. A visual, delectable delight!

Q&A
What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
Tomatoes are really fun to draw because you can do so much with the endless tangle of vines! They’re an eastern shore staple and when I used to work at a produce stand I spent many summers looking at them.
What is your comfort food?
I love making and eating Greek food. It has the best variety of flavors and textures and it usually makes me feel full without over-indulging. It’s easy to please a crowd with too!
What is your favorite beverage?
I’m pretty sure my circulatory system is half cold brew but for fun I love a freshly made margarita with mezcal! None of that radioactive-looking green stuff. ;)
