CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in patterns began when I worked as an in-house product designer for a company that made wrapping paper and collections for the stationery and gifting market. Over the years, my expertise in patterns has developed due to my partnering with a variety of clients on their collections.
I nurture this focus by exploring nature and drawing in my sketchbook daily. What I love most about patterns is its ability to create an overall artwork that can be used on many products from clothing to interiors. I believe it is important to understand size, scale, how a pattern will look when repeated out and how it will appear on the final product. For me, the two most important qualities of a successful pattern illustrator are understanding the technical side of planning a pattern design and being open to play with your design. I see patterns everywhere! To maintain my skill set I love to photograph and draw patterns in my sketchbook and sometimes those sketches turn into finished designs!

I have loved creating patterns for gift wrap. Knowing that my art can help spread joy makes me truly happy.
Where do you find inspiration?
On my many walks in nature and along the beautiful beaches where I live, on Cape Cod.
What would be your dream pattern job?
I would love to work on a fabric collection!
