CREATIVE STATEMENT
As an illustrator specializing in portraiture, I create a variety of products that focus on storytelling through the use of likeness. Whether I am creating a book cover, editorial illustration, movie poster, or private commission, I am always drawn to embellishing the image's story through the expressions of the characters that I am representing in my work. To maintain my skill set, I am constantly creating portrait studies in my sketchbook, and always look forward to the next opportunity to illustrate my fellow humans.

Q&A
Which of your portraits is a personal favorite?
I love my Wizard of Oz movie poster tryptic. Focusing on the three main female characters of the movie within the poster series, and utilizing a similar centralized design in each was such a fun practice in creative problem-solving!
What is the most important feature to capture?
The key to any portrait and obtaining the subject's expression is all in the eyes! I also love adding texture to any portion of an illustration.
What would your dream project be?
My three portraiture dream jobs would be 1) to create a series of portrait illustrations for Time magazine, 2) to create a series of licensed movie posters for Lord of the Rings, and 3) creating portrait-centric illustrations for a special edition Folio Society book release.
