CREATIVE STATEMENT
When creating illustrations of architecture, whether for editorial, icon, advertisement, or other commercial needs, I love to consider that the work I am creating is a likeness of the original. I am drawn to the simplification of the structure in my illustration, while embellishing its most recognizable features and elements. To maintain my skill set, I often research inspiring architecture and always look forward to the next opportunity to travel in order to study and sketch intriguing architecture in as many places as possible!

Q&A
What city has your favorite architecture?
Barcelona, Spain has some of my favorite architecture, especially the work of architect Antoni Gaudi. His combination of organic shapes and gothic architecture is such a beautiful and inspiring architectural feat.
What is your favorite building?
Gaudi's 'House of Bones' and the still-unfinished 'Sagrada Familia' are both gorgeous buildings that win my heart! The incorporated color of tile and stained glass, as well as the attention to detail within all of the architecture's sculpture, relief, and shape work are breathtaking.
Which do you prefer: modern or classical?
I appreciate both modern and classical architectural feats, but I do prefer the detailed artistry found in classical architecture— especially since those details are so fun to illustrate!
