CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in lettering started in school, where creating titles often took longer than doing my homework. Over time, my skills have developed through exposure to various styles, including graffiti, cursive, and live events where I use typography and lettering as a conduit to create large canvases as "mementos" from words taken from the attendees. As an illustrator specializing in lettering and illustration, I practice daily to refine this focus. I love how this art form can constantly evolve, change, and adapt. I believe a successful lettering illustration must effectively communicate the message; it should be visually pleasing and legible. I consider playfulness and legibility the two most vital qualities of good typography. I see words and letters as fun shapes that I enjoy playing with to craft engaging compositions.
