CREATIVE STATEMENT
I started brand illustration as a designer. Creating strong visual identities and systems for small businesses, then tech products, and now everything in between. As a fractional creative director of a lot of these clients, I would start to implement illustration as a system, rather than one-offs and i really started to understand the power of illustration for brand messaging. I’ve now done illustration for various formats, including social, packaging, television, advertising, and products.

Q&A
What is your favorite logo?
Piggly Wiggly supermarkets comes to mind, that pig is just fantastic! Some other great retro logos / brands like any old cereal company comes to mind as well.
Which brand do you most admire for its use of illustration?
I think at the time, Mailchimp and Dropbox really lead a shift in the tech industry for their branded illustration style. It influenced a lot of the modern confidence brands feel they can take with irreverent art in a professional setting.
What packaging would be your dream job?
Creating any sort of special gift for a brand would be really special. I love creating an experience from the moment a package arrives at your door. Opening it, flipping it upside-down, customizing the experience at every conceivable turn to make something feel truly premium and thoughtful. This could be a toy, special shirt, gift for a loyal customer, etc.
