CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in drawing dates back to my earliest memories. I‘d often sit and create my own stories, filled with illustrations, and bind them with string. I have been working in illustration and design for over 10 years, and after my son was born, I shifted my focus to children's books so that I could share my passion for storytelling, especially with young readers. My illustration style is whimsical, with nostalgic colour palettes that transport readers into an idyllic world. What I love most about being an illustrator is the ability to take a story, scenario, or idea and create a beautiful picture that speaks for itself, evoking emotion and conversation. I believe that when it comes to children's book illustration, it is important to collaborate closely with the author to ensure that both the words and pictures blend seamlessly to tell the entire story.
