CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in lettering began after I worked for a stationery company and learned it existed. Over the years, my expertise in lettering has developed due to using it for client projects. As an illustrator who specializes in lettering I nurture this focus by practicing frequently. What I love most about lettering is its ability to enhance ideas. To create a successful lettering illustration I believe it's important to take into account the context of the message. To maintain my skill set I letter almost daily.My interest in surface design began when I studied fibers at The Savannah College of Art and Design! Over the years, my expertise in surface design has developed due to creating patterns for wholesale products I make. As an illustrator who specializes in pattern I nurture this focus by working in collections. What I love most about pattern is how it keeps the eye moving. To create a successful pattern I believe it's important to make detailed motifs. The two most important qualities of a successful pattern are balance and fullness. To maintain my skillset I draw everyday!

The industry I most enjoy creating patterns for are stationery and gift markets!
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere. Too much inspiration! I enjoy curating my ideas though, which helps me focus.
What would be your dream pattern job?
My dream pattern job would be a a wrapping paper, gift bag and greeting card collection for winter holiday!
