CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in food illustration began when I was a child. I loved looking through my mom’s recipes and baking the ones with the best pictures. Daily practice and a love of learning have helped me develop my expertise. Working digitally, I’m able to combine techniques like gouache and watercolor. I love Procreate’s ability to mimic different brushes and allow me to make changes to my work. I’ve nurtured my focus on food & drink illustration through drawing the recipes I make. To create a successful food illustration, it’s important to make it look appealing. For me, the most important qualities are color and creating a sense of story.

Q&A
What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
My favorite fruit to illustrate is figs, and my favorite vegetable to draw is red cabbage.
What is your comfort food?
Pierogies, also known as vareniki. As much as I do love egg & avocado toast and eat it all the time, when I think of comfort it has to be Ukrainian food!
What is your favorite beverage?
Coffee addict in general, but iced coconut milk latte is sublime.
