CREATIVE STATEMENT

Animals and wildlife are the recurrent thread in my illustrations and paintings. Inspired by the daily rhythms of farm life and walks through the woods and pastures, I create layered, mixed-media compositions that blend a personal iconography of flora and fauna with abstract, atmospheric spaces. My work is quiet, contemplative, and emotionally resonant. Using paint and mixed media—or working digitally, I build textures and marks into my imagery giving it a dreamy, ethereal quality—untethered to time or place, yet rich with narrative possibility. The result is artwork that feels familiar, mysterious, and quietly hopeful. My visual language is both distinctive and versatile, translating seamlessly across formats: from editorial and spot illustrations to greeting cards, book covers, and wall art.

Q&A

What animal do you most relate to?
Birds and rabbits. Owls and deer. Oh, heck. I love them all.

What animal is the most fun to draw?
It’s a rotating bundle of fun, but lately I’m obsessed with swans—so much elegance and mystery.

Cats or dogs?
Both! I dream of a little menagerie.
