CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in illustration began when I was a kid–I always preferred to escape in the pages of Little Golden Books. I later studied Fashion and Interior Design and worked in architecture before becoming an illustrator. My design background informs my expertise in composition, color, and shape. I maintain my skillset by drawing all the lovely buildings and obscure objects I encounter when I travel...and lugging some of them home!

Do you draw from a model or your imagination?
A bit of both! I try to put the reference photos away after initial sketches so the illustration can have more personality.
What is your favorite activity to illustrate?
Antiquing! I also love drawing historic shopfronts and vintage cars. I’m drawn to lovely, decorative things with an old soul.
Where do you find inspiration for new people and poses?
Fashion magazines and catalogs and traveling. You can’t beat people-watching in the wild!
