CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in animals and wildlife began when I was a child. I loved to be outside and to be around my pets or going to the zoo. I was just always delighted by animals. As I grew older and developed my artistic skills I found I still had the same love and appreciation for wildlife. I began to draw and study them and that soon developed into stories and characters.

Q&A
What animal do you most relate to?
I find cats to be really relatable because they are so honest. They are utterly themselves and they are going to do what they are going to do (despite your efforts). But they are also very loyal and loving but unlike some other animals you have to earn their respect. And I think it’s a good way to live life. Be yourself, do what you love, and only tolerate the nonsense that you want to tolerate.
What animal is the most fun to draw?
I think cats are the most fun to draw, given the variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and textures they can be. Not to mention the large personalities and silly things they get themselves into. It allows me to really imagine what they can look like and be able to create really whimsical alternative lives for them!
Which do you prefer: cats or dogs?
I love both cats and dogs! But ultimately I am a cat lady at heart.
