CREATIVE STATEMENT
My practice includes studying, working with and creating letters in many forms: calligraphy, painting, letterpress printing moveable type, vector illustration and digital type design. Being an illustrator with a design background, I have an interest and expertise in typography and how the form of words can express additional meaning. I enjoy illustrating letters in script, futurist, geometric, and mid-century, serif styles as well as experimental forms.

What is your favorite letter in the alphabet?
I love the challenge of drawing an S—to make it both balanced and expressive.
What is your favorite quote?
Less is more.
What writing tool do you use?
I use all sorts of tools from metal calligraphy nibs and folded pens to paint brushes, but my work often ends up as vectorized artwork.
