My passion for drawing florals and plants began with an interest in botanical and natural history illustration, enriched by my art history background and love of research. Over the years, my expertise has deepened through gardening, research, and practice in botanical-style illustration. As a specialist in florals and plants, I nurture my focus by studying botanical illustrations, visiting gardens, and spending time in nature. I believe successful illustrations require careful observation and stylistic consideration, emphasizing beauty and grace. Consistent practice and continuing education are key to maintaining and expanding my skills.

Q&A
Which flower do you draw the most?
Tropical plants and flowers are my favorite things to draw. I especially love plants from South Africa and Australia because they’re so unique and beautiful.
What grows in your garden?
My favorite plant in my garden is a pineapple guava. The underside of the leaves are a lovely silvery green and the blossoms are gorgeous.
What do flowers symbolize to you?
To me, flowers symbolize beauty and wisdom. I just got a book called The Mythology of Plants: Botanical Lore from Greece and Rome. I love learning about the symbolism and meaning of plants, as well as their uses.
