CREATIVE STATEMENT

Growing up, I loved discovering illustrations in the pages of magazines and reading newspaper comics. I was especially drawn to articles about how we think, live, and relate to the world, and I've always loved how art and design can make those ideas feel more vivid. What excites me about creating editorial work is the opportunity to explore different subjects, learn something new, and bring written stories to life. I believe a good editorial illustration can spark curiosity, create an emotional connection, and make ideas feel more approachable.

    Q&A

Which publication does a great job at using illustrations?
I love the illustrations in The Guardian and The New York Times and the way both newspapers feature such a wonderful variety of styles. When it comes to magazines, one of my favorites is the Brazilian lifestyle publication Vida Simples. Their covers always have charming, minimalist illustrations, and there's usually at least one thoughtfully illustrated article inside.

What topic do you enjoy illustrating about?
I really enjoy illustrating everyday life, human behavior, and culture. I especially love creating illustrations about travel, food, and everyday objects.

What magazine cover do you want your illustration to be on?
I'd love to illustrate a cover for Frankie or Color Club! Both magazines are so fun and inspiring.
