CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in food illustration began about 5 years ago as I started illustrating recipes and traveling to explore new foods and cultures. My expertise in food illustration has developed from creating cute and smiling food characters to creating realistic but playful food tablescape illustrations, cocktail illustrations, and food ingredient depictions for small brands and editorial clients. As an illustrator who specializes in food illustrations, a successful food illustration has the food items clearly drawn using contrasting colors, with texture and shading for depth. I do a lot of food and drink research to determine new tasty treats to enjoy and illustrate.

Q&A
What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
I like ones with a bit of shape or texture, so lemons, a pair of cherries connected by a stem, or a strawberry. Broccoli is super fun too.
What is your comfort food?
Pizza is always the one I go to after a rough day.
What is your favorite beverage?
Tea! All types really, but fresh ginger tea is my current favorite.
