CREATIVE STATEMENT
I am an artist and illustrator based in England who specialises in lifestyle Illustration. I take my inspiration from the little joys in everyday life, from thrift store finds to seasonal produce. I studied BA Illustration and have since gone on to build a successful career in illustration, working across publishing, editorial illustration, and licensing, with almost 2 decades of experience. As a lifestyle illustrator my sketchbook is my most important tool, helping me record little moments of everyday life. What I love most about lifestyle illustration is its ability to connect with people and make them smile. From illustrating book covers to greetings cards, I am skilled in creating illustrations that people connect to emotionally. To maintain my skill set, I have an active sketchbook practice, developing my work daily in my sketchbook by exploring new materials, techniques and colour palettes, and doing observational drawing from life.

Q&A
Do you draw from a model or your imagination?
Whenever I can, I draw from life, and I prioritise drawing on location with my sketchbook as much as possible, but I also use reference photos and draw from my imagination.
What is your favorite activity to illustrate?
I am a very keen gardener, so I love sketching people gardening, and generally interacting with nature.
Where do you find inspiration for new people and poses?
Travel is one of my biggest inspirations and I’m always making sketches and taking photos.
