My interest in food illustration began in high school. Over the years, my expertise in food and recipe illustration has developed due to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University and over 12 years of professional freelance experience working with companies such as Martha Stewart Living and Princeton Architectural Press in addition to multiple world-renowned chefs. As an illustrator who specializes in food and recipe illustration, I nurture this focus by studying food through my love of cooking and gardening. What I love most about illustrating food is its ability to bring people together. I believe food is a universal love language. To create successful food and recipe illustrations I believe it's important to work closely with the client to bring their ideas to life while also maintaining my signature style. For me, the two most important qualities of a successful food illustration are its ability to capture and enhance the overall vibe of the project, while also connecting to the reader, shopper, etc. To maintain my skillset I keep up with current food trends, explore new ideas in my sketch book, and stay up to date with design software.
