CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in food illustration began at school while studying Pop Art. I love food as a subject matter for playing with color and interpretation. It allows me to capture the essence of the food, play with a balance of realism and artistic interpretation, and use a composition that helps tell a story or instruct. I love being able to capture realism on a flat surface and still have the warmth that cannot be in a photograph. I like my work to be as visually attractive as possible through vibrant colors and intricate details to make the illustrated food mouth-watering.

What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
I love to illustrate globe artichokes, due to all the leaves that reflect light and color.
What is your comfort food?
Creamy mashed potato, even when I don’t feel well.

A margarita, although I keep them for treats.
